Surf school, Southwold

Southwold Surf School runs family-friendly courses for all ages and abilities at the heart of the surfing community on the East Coast. Based next to the campsite – just a five-minute walk from the bustling town centre – the school offers a number of group and private lessons, with all equipment provided.

Lesson times coincide with low tide at Southwold beach, and pupils must be confident swimmers capable of swimming at least 50m. Sessions last for up to 60 minutes and begin with a beach-based lesson, then time on the water.

If you’re already competent, Southwold Surf School offers board and wetsuit hire by the hour. Stand Up Paddle Board lessons are also available – perfect for when the water is less choppy.
