The Hoste

The Hoste Arms

Its traditional stores might be outnumbered by an abundance of independent and specialist shops, salons, galleries and other upmarket outlets, but Burnham Market remains a favourite ‘afternoon out’ among locals as well as a first-choice for those travelling further in search of a fashionable break close to the North Norfolk coast and countryside.

This pretty Georgian village is chock-full of eateries serving everything from cappuccino to sea bass, afternoon tea and cakes

to a club sandwich, but for yummy bar food or fine dining, those who wish to ‘see and be seen’ will always head for  The Hoste Arms, favourite haunt of many a celebrity – hence its nickname, ‘Chelsea-on-Sea’ – yet still the hub of the village.

A pub, restaurant, hotel and spa steeped in history, The Hoste Arms celebrates all that’s best about Norfolk – a wealth of dedicated suppliers provide local produce, beer and wine, along with meats and fish reared and caught a stone’s throw from the property, all of which take pride of place on the menus here.

And, at the end of day spent walking the coast – Brancaster is only a couple of miles away – or perhaps just watching the world go by, 62 individually-crafted bedrooms are spread throughout the historic building, with the promise of something to suit all tastes and budgets.
